Cast HDPE fittings
Cast HDPE fittings are fittings that are designed to connect polyethylene pipes of grades PE-80 and PE-100, such fittings are also called SPIGOT fittings. Molded HDPE fittings are made from low pressure polyethylene (HDPE) with an MRS value of 8.0 MPa (PE80 polyethylene) and MRS 10.0 MPa (PE100 polyethylene), where MRS is the minimum long-term strength. Polyethylene molded fittings are made on screw equipment by injection molding with further machining. Molded low pressure polyethylene fittings are produced with diameters from 20 mm to 1200 mm, which fully correspond to the diameter of produced HDPE pipes PE80 and PE100.
Molded polyethylene fittings are designed to connect HDPE pipes in places where they change their direction, when branching and turning, in places where pipes are connected to various pipeline fittings, as well as in case of a change in pipeline diameter. The connection of polyethylene pipes with cast HDPE fittings is carried out by butt welding, using a special welding machine for butt welding. There is also another way to connect polyethylene pipes with cast fittings, this is a connection using a welding machine for electrofusion welding using electrofusion fittings.
